Cancer nutrition

Being diagnosed with cancer can be overwhelming. If you or someone you know have been diagnosed with cancer, be sure to link in with an accredited practising dietitian (APD) via the treating hospital or in the community especially if you had unintentional weight loss and any other symptoms that may have affected your eating (e.g. loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting). Having adequate nutrition ensures you are as fit as can be for any treatments or planned surgeries, enabling faster recovery.

We are here to support you throughout your cancer journey. If you are feeling anxious and unsure what you can or can't eat, please get in touch with us.

You may be eligible for a Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDMP) for medicare rebates and access up to 5 allied health services per calendar year, discuss with your GP to find out more. MBS item number 93000 (telehealth dietitian consult on CDMP).

Getting to know you

We will gather information prior and during your consult/s to get to know you, your nutrition goals and discuss how we can support you. Knowing what your nutrition goals are can help us better support you.

Try out those nutrition strategies!

Time between consults provides the opportunity for you to put those nutrition strategies into practice and see how they work for you.

Dietary assessment

We will talk about your eating habits (past/present), your relationship with food and body image, assess your current diet and provide nutrition strategies in collaboration with you in line with your nutrition goals.

Review appointments

Review appointments are for us to review those nutrition strategies, what worked, what didn't and we will explore why and how we can adapt those to suit you better to achieve your goals.

Let's work together.
